Santa Fe Irrigation District Declares a Level 1 Drought Condition

Governor Declares Statewide Drought

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger held a news conference Wednesday, June 4, 2008, during which he declared a statewide drought and issued an Executive Order directing the Department of Water Resources to take a series of actions designed to lessen the impacts of the drought and water delivery constraints in the Bay-Delta.  You can also access additional information on the Governor’s website at

IAWP Reduction Plan

At a public hearing at the February 21st Board meeting, the Board will consider adopting a resolution that implements the Interim Agricultural Water Program (IAWP) Reduction Plan, and authoriizes a regulatory fee for IAWP participants who exceed their annual allocations. Men posing as Water District/Department employees are asking to enter residents' homes to look for valuables or ask for payment of outstanding bills. Always ask for photo identification and make sure they are wearing a uniform with an official water agency logo. And never let someone into your home unless you have prearranged an appointment.
